A man recently received a shocking surprise when he ordered four iPhone 15 Pro Max models from Apple and ended up with 60 instead. According to TikTok user Giovanni Petruzziello, he had placed an order for one 1TB iPhone 15 Pro Max for himself in September and three additional 256GB models for his employees. However, when the smartphones finally arrived on November 1st, he discovered that instead of receiving the four units he had ordered, he had been sent 60 iPhones, all of which were the one terabyte version.
Petruzziello shared a video of himself unboxing the iPhones, which quickly went viral. In the video, he expressed his dilemma and uncertainty about what to do with the extra phones. Many commenters suggested that he should return them since Apple is likely aware of the mistake by now.
This unexpected error could have cost Apple approximately $96,000 before taxes. It’s unclear how this mix-up occurred, but some speculate it could be a combination of human error and a misunderstanding regarding the number of iPhones ordered.
The iPhone 15 Pro lineup was unveiled by Apple at its annual September event in 2023. This new lineup features several upgrades, including a titanium frame, 5x zoom capabilities, and the powerful A17 Pro chip.
While this incident may have caused some confusion and stress for both the customer and Apple, it serves as a reminder that even large corporations are not immune to mistakes. As for Petruzziello, it remains to be seen what action he will take regarding the extra iPhones he received.
