The company may also use molded glass lenses for the camera system in the iPhone 16 Pro models.
The latest rumors surrounding Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 suggest that it could feature a new capacitive button and a relocation of the mmWave antenna. An anonymous leaker on Weibo shared this information, which was later reiterated by another source called Instant Digital. The rumored “Capture Button” is expected to be capacitive, along with a capacitive Action Button. These buttons would be located below the sleep/wake button, necessitating the movement of the mmWave antenna under the volume buttons.
Although there is no definitive information on what the Capture Button will be used for, its name suggests that it could potentially serve as a camera launcher or a similar tool. It’s worth noting that these rumors mostly pertain to the iPhone 16 Pro models and may not apply to the entire iPhone 16 series.
While Instant Digital hasn’t established a long track record, they have provided accurate details in the past regarding features such as the yellow color option for iPhone 14 and frosted back glass for iPhone 15. They also recently claimed that Apple would address the jelly scrolling effect in their hardware update for iPad mini 7.
AppleInsider rates this rumor as possible but considers it unlikely for Apple to introduce a new external button two years in a row. However, we will have to wait until September 2024 when the iPhone 16 lineup is expected to be announced to confirm any of these rumors.
In other news, during an event earlier this week, Apple unveiled its M3 chip lineup, including the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max. These chips offer up to 80% faster performance compared to their predecessor, the M1 chip. Furthermore, there are reports suggesting that Apple might use molded glass lenses for the camera system in the iPhone 16 Pro models. This move could help reduce camera bump thickness and weight while improving magnification distance.
It’s important to note that all this information should still be taken as speculation until Apple officially confirms any details. As we eagerly await the release of the iPhone 16, we can expect more improvements to the camera systems and larger displays, according to rumors.

In addition to the iPhone-related news, Apple recently released new firmware for AirTag, which will be gradually rolled out to all tracking devices over the next month. They also shared a behind-the-scenes look at how they used the iPhone 15 Max to shoot footage for their October 30 Apple Event.
Lastly, investment firm Goldman Sachs provided its initial take on Apple’s latest financial results following the Scary Fast event. Interested buyers can now get their hands on updated premium MacBook Pro models equipped with the new M3 chips. Unfortunately, this update came at the expense of discontinuing the 13-inch MacBook Pro model and its divisive Touch Bar feature.
To celebrate the launch of new Macs during Apple’s recent event, Amazon has slashed prices on AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C to $189.99—the lowest price ever seen for these popular accessories. Additionally, you can find other great deals today including discounted iPhones starting from $510, leather cases with MagSafe for iPhone 12 mini at $12, a Klipsch home theater system at 55% off, an LG 48″ OLED 4K TV with a $750 discount, a Fire TV Stick with a 50% discount, and more.
As always with rumors and leaks surrounding upcoming products or software updates from Apple or any other company, it’s advisable to take them with a grain of salt until official announcements are made. Nonetheless, these rumors provide an exciting glimpse into what may be in store for future Apple products.
