An alleged early leak for the iPhone 16 Pro has surfaced, revealing a potential prototype of its battery. This leaked photo, shared by serial leaker @KosutamiSan on X (formerly Twitter), showcases a J-shaped battery that is claimed to be from an “early stage” version of the iPhone 16 Pro.
The battery component in the photo is shown with protective plastic on one side and features several printed and etched markings. However, certain regulatory images are yet to be applied to it. According to the accompanying text provided by the leaker, this battery has a capacity of 3,355mAh or 13.02 Watt-hours, with a limited charge voltage of 4.48 Volts.
Compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 15 Pro, this alleged early-stage battery appears to have a slightly higher capacity. The iPhone 15 Pro is rated at 3,274mAh, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max boasts a larger 4,422mAh battery.
It’s important to note that since this is an early-stage battery leak, there is no guarantee that these specifications will remain unchanged in the final production model expected in 2024. In fact, the leaker suggests that there have already been some design changes.
The current-stage prototype of the battery reportedly differs from its glossy surface initial version and now features a “frosted metal shell.” Additionally, there seems to be a redesigned connector being used.
While details about Apple’s upcoming products often generate excitement among tech enthusiasts and fans worldwide, it’s essential to treat leaks with caution until official information is released by Apple itself. Speculations can change during the research and development process.
In conclusion, this alleged leak presents an early glimpse into what could potentially be the battery design for the iPhone 16 Pro. However, as with all leaks and rumors surrounding unreleased devices, it’s important to wait for official announcements from Apple for confirmed information about its upcoming products.
